Car Line Procedures
CPSC does not have school buses, so car line is a big deal. Please read and follow the procedures are in your Parent Handbook, and make sure that anyone else who picks up your child knows the procedures too.
Middle Schoolers can walk to the Foster Street Campus to meet up with younger siblings. Download the permission form here.
Medication
Students who need medication at school (including over-the-counter meds) must have permission forms on file! Please ask your Office Manager for complete details, and please have your child's meds to us on Day One.
Keeping In Touch
School Announcements
For email newsletters, email news@cpsfc.org. We usually email only once a week.
For SMS text message updates, instructions to sign up are coming soon!
Delays & Closings
We DO NOT FOLLOW Durham Public Schools closings!
Our Parent Handbook explains our Inclement Weather plan. Closings and delays are announced via email and SMS text messages, on radio and TV, on our website and on our phone system.
Parent to Parent
CPSC parents have organized a Google Group email list for parent-to-parent communications. Note that this listserv is completely separate from official school announcements, and is not affiliated with the school.
Parent Handbook
Our Parent Handbook explains what we expect of our students, and what families can expect from us.
The Parent Handbook includes...
- School Hours
- Car Line & Parking
- Attendance & Tardiness
- Volunteer Expectations
- Student Expectations
- Technology Agreement
- and many other details
Special Needs
Our teachers provide extra challenges for gifted students, and extra help for students having difficulty. If you have concerns about your child's learning needs, please speak first with the classroom teacher. Our Student Assistance Team will support your child, the teacher, and you as a parent.
