CPSC offers arts-based camps intersession and summer camps that are a natural extension of our child-centered, project-based school program. See the CPSC Camps page for more information.
Camps Around Durham
The following are some intersession camp programs that CPSC families have enjoyed over the years... listed in no particular order. No endorsement by Central Park School for Children is implied, and of course parents should check out any camp program carefully to make sure it's a good fit for their family.
- Walk Your Path Well (by Al & Meghan Whitted, formerly of Camp Riverlea)
- Schoolhouse of Wonder
- Piedmont Wildlife Center (one of the few options in southern Durham)
- Sarah's House of Clay (very free-form)
- Rock It Learning (science, technology, in Raleigh)
- Triangle Sportsplex (Hillsborough)
- YMCA (locations around the Triangle)
- RDU Tennis (Five Oaks Club)
- Bright Horse Farm (art, horses; Chatham County)
- Spence's Farm (Orange County)
- Duke Faculty Club (has member and nonmember rates)
- Durham Parks & Recreation (online info is spotty, but ask after Nature Caravan in particular)

NOTE: Some of these organizations have been known to add a week of intersession camp to their schedule if enough families are interested. This is helpful for weeks when our schedule doesn't coincide with other local year-round schools.
