Volunteering

This large and important event could not happen without the support of our entire school community. Grateful thanks to all our families, staff, students, neighbors and supporters for making our 2011 Strawberry Festival a success.

Thanks also to the many volunteers from other organizations:

  • TROSA - y'all were AMAZING!
  • Students from area high schools
  • ...and all the relatives and friends who pitched in (more thanks to come)

Special Shout-Outs:

  • All the performers volunteered their time and talents -- thank you all so much! Thanks to North State Sound for their help with sound.
  • The Lowe's Grove Middle School Drum Line and Dancers made our parade!
  • The City of Durham Police and Fire Departments and ABC-11 Eyewitness News brought a TV news truck, fire trucks, a police car and motorcycles for kids to tour. Special thanks to the K9 unit too!
  • The Whole Foods stores in Durham and Chapel Hill took our recyclables, helping our festival be environmentally friendly.
  • YMCA and TROSA donated ice for our food booths.
  • King's Sandwich Shop, Plate & Pitchfork, Watts Grocery, Whole Foods, NC State Department of Horticulture, and Trader Joe's helped with food purchasing, and of course Guglhupf made all those delicious shortcakes just for us.

Thanks for all you do!
