Car Line Safety

The area directly in front of the school, on Foster Street, is our student drop-off and pick-up zone.  When everyone knows what to do, dismissal goes smoothly and traffic jams are minimized.

PLEASE READ the Drop-Off and Pick-Up rules in the Parent Handbook (section 6) for complete details.

The Car Line operates 8:00 - 8:30am and 3:15 - 3:45pm. Staff are outside to assist children.

Adults must stay in the car and display their official car line pick-up card.

Kids must be able to get in and buckle themselves quickly.

Be kind to other drivers: don't block intersections or parking lot entrances.

Prevent accidents: don't U-turn on Foster Street and don't jaywalk through the car line!

Don't chat with staff on car line duty.

Tips from Teachers and Parents:

  • Keep displaying your pickup card even after your child has been called — it helps staff keep track of which children go where.
  • Pull up close behind the next car.
  • Teach your child(ren) to come outside quickly when called, and to get in and buckle quickly.
  • Pay attention!  Don't talk on the phone.
  • After 3pm, DO NOT leave your car in the pickup zone and come inside.  Either park in the lot, or stay in your car.

Car Line Pick-Up Card REQUIRED

Per the Parent Handbook, you must display your official Car Line Pick-Up Card or staff will not let your child go in your car. If your card is lost, the school will provide a new one.

Your card will come in our June Mailing (with your child's class assignment) or come home with your child.
