Book Fairs & Literary Festivals

Book events like the annual Literary Festival and other book fairs are an opportunity for CPSC families to purchase books for children, foster the power of learning and loving to read, support local independent businesses, raise money for our school library, and most important, bring parents and children together in the spirit of a strong, supportive, and caring community. See below for more information about these special events.

Barnes & Noble Book Event

CPSC will receive a percentage of profits from our purchases both in-store and online. CPSC raised nearly $500 for our library at the Barnes & Noble book fair in the spring of 2010.

Fall 2011 Literary Festival Sets the Record

The third annual Literary Festival at the Regulator Bookshop on Ninth Street surpassed last years by 25%.

Raise the Bar Again — Big Accomplishments!

This year's festival, held on October 20-22, made over $2,000, a $400 increase over last year! The bake sale was a huge success, and in addition to the sales percentage donated by The Regulator, friends and families of CPSC purchased an additional $2,345 worth of books for the CPSC library. In total, the library now has an additional 364 books! The funds from the festival are being used immediately to purchase a shelving cart for the library and toward the much-needed upgrade of our check-out/inventory system to a formalized "beep beep" system sometime next spring!

More Ways to Support our Library

Proceeds from our book events are usually earmarked to buy materials for our school's library.  Other donations to the library are welcome too — the committee has a wish list for specific books. Call the school for more information.
